I'm contemplating my second Tattoo.
I'm a big fan of vintage video games. Lode Runner was the very first Game I played on my friends Apple II and subsequently on my Commodore 64. With it's Level editor I discovered my love for creating and programing on computer. In other words it made me the geek I am today.
My first Tat: 2" x 3" left shoulder.
I'm also a huge fan of the movie TRON. Tron was the film version that LodeRunner was the game for. Up to that point in my life I had not Idea computers could do such cool stuff. So in because of how cool I think The recognizers are in particular... (and Tattoos should always be cool to you, otherwise why get them?) this is what I'm going to get as my secondary Ink.
11 inches across my back right between the shoulderblades.
am I a geek or what!?

You are a geek my friend ... but I believe I have already declared fealty to you in a previous thread over a similar topic ...
Between the shoulder blades is a fun place ... get ready for a bit of pain ... I only got my first tattoo last year, and that's exactly where I got it ... with the recognizer it might not be too bad across the bone of your spine ... however my phoenix took up a bit of room across my spine ... owww ...
I know I need more ink ... I'm just not sure how I'm going to expand on the phoenix / flame motif ...
Just to keep things in the thread lively ... Rbp, you've stated why you're getting your tattoo ... personally, mine was a reminder that no matter what life throws at me, I will always rise above it ... I'm sure we're going to get all kinds of people posting their ink in here ... I'd like to know what the inspiration for theirs are ...

Ouch! There's not much sub-q tissue on the back. It is gonna hurt a bit, depending on your pain tolerance of course.
That's a neat tattooo, and you have interesting reasoning behind it.

Sorry ... I just re-read that ... ELEVEN INCHES ACROSS YOUR BACK?!?!??!? Damn man ... that will NOT be subtle ...
Are you going to be doing it on the angle like in the picture above? Or will it be 'square' with your shoulders?

Angled... just like it looks in the picture. Right side will me slightly larger than left 9 inches at it's widest and 7 3/4 tall at it's tallest.
Plus I'm slightly overweight, so I should have some extra sub Q buffering going on.
I was first thinking about getting it done with UV ink. because, It's Tron. and that would just make it explode of my back, very much like the film exploded of the screen into my mind.
samples of UV ink designs
and the link to the site... The white paper says it's safer than regular inks.

oh wow. How cool is that? And hypoallergenic!

The 18th color UV Titanium White can be used on light skin tones to create virtually invisible tattoos - some light scaring may occur due to the tattooing process. See some the listings in the Professional Tattoo Studios for Black Light Tattoo Pictures Samples.

That is what I want.

Well the problem I have is the Artist here in Carson City, the guy who did my loderunner, says they probably would not do the UV inks.
